
Description
The project consists of 169 self-contained apartments and bungalows surrounding an extensive village centre providing social, learning and leisure opportunities for both residents and many other older people in the wider community for Leadbitter Construction Ltd. Facilities will include a village hall, restaurant, bar, IT suite, craft and woodwork shop, fitness and wellbeing centre and greenhouse.
Scope of Works
GCM Contractors work involved the Construction of all reinforced concrete foundations, under slab and external drainage, reinforced concrete ground floor slab, soft and hard lanscaping works for the new Retirement Village in St Oswalds Park, Gloucester on an old landfill site.
- trimming down of over 800 reinforced concrete piles to construct a series of reinforced concrete pile caps and reinforced concrete ground beams
- removal of in excess of 3000m3 of non-hazardous soil arisings
- 2500 linear metres of reinforced concrete foundations and pile caps
- 6000 linear metres and over 90 polypropylene manholes and inspection chambers installed
- in excess of 6000m2 of reinforced concrete slab
- installation of two 160m3 attenuation tanks in conjunction with Sustainable Drainage Systems
- installation of petrol and oil interceptors
- construction of new access roads including surfacing
- sub-base and gas membrane to underside of ground floor slabs
spa and lift pits in reinforced concrete - powerfloat finished concrete slabs
All hard and soft landscaping works in the second visit programmed for November 2009
